This program works by "listening" through your Microphone. Because your Mac may support more than one input source (Microphone, Line Input, CD Player, etc) you may need to choose one. From the Microphone Menu, select "Configure..." to select an input source.
◊
Step 1
From the popup menu, choose the input source that seems most appropriate; Generally this will be 'Microphone' or 'Built-In'.
◊
Step 2
Adjust the Input Level, if necessary, after trying the program. The desired setting will depend on where you place the Microphone. You may need to return to this step several times to get the level right. (Please read the Best Results section if you are having trouble setting the Input Level.)
Ready
You should now be ready to run the program, with the selected device as your input source. If the the program cannot utilize the device you've chosen, it will issue further instructions. Try another Input Source, if possible. To test your Mac's recording ability independent of Perfect Pitch, follow the Hardware Checkout procedure.
